+++ Wrecking in Truk +++

🇫🇲

10 nights Wreck Diving on the Pacific Master

If you like the following, this trip might be for you:

Wrecks for Days 🛻

This is an 11-day program where we'll explore the finest dive sites Truk Lagoon has to offer. You'll have the opportunity to dive into numerous remarkable shipwrecks, many of which are Japanese merchant vessels known as ‘Maru.’ These ships, laden with war materiel like trucks, ordnance, and even planes, now rest beneath the waves, filled with fascinating cargo and artifacts.

Superb Reefs 🪸

Coral reefs in Micronesia, particularly around the islands of Truuk and Palau, are some of the most biodiverse in the world, hosting over 400 species of coral and 1,300 species of fish. These reefs are renowned for their vibrant marine life, including manta rays and reef sharks, making them a hotspot for scientific research and ecotourism.

Shipwreck Survey 🏴‍☠️

For this trip we are partnering up with the The Shipwreck Survey, a collective that yearly organizes multiple underwater archaeological field schools and expeditions in exotic locations around the world. During this trip, participants will have the chance immerse into presentations and workshops on the wrecks that will be explored!

History Lies Beneath 🗺️

Truk Lagoon served as an important base for the Japanese Imperial Navy. In the early morning of February 17, 1944, the US launched an attack on Truk from three aircraft carrier groups nearby. In the battles that followed, the number of taken down vessels and aircraft went on to formed the largest concentration of sunken warships in the world, all covered in coral!

A Unique Adventure 🪂

This is our first BTM Travel wreck diving trip, offering a totally new experience and different adventure. Of course the trip will include top marine wildlife, but the focus of the trip will be on the wrecks and the parts that are waited to be discovered. It's an exceptional opportunity to see how human history has blended in with the underwater world in its very own way.

Pacific Master ⛵

The magnificent Pacific Master will be our home for 10 nights in the middle of Micronesia. This custom-designed liveaboard combines a top crew, good service and a track record of taking divers to the most amazing underwater spectacles. Cruising the Pacific Ocean on this vessel while sleeping on the rhythm of the waves, is a thing of beauty.

Photography Pearl

The photography opportunities in this wreck diving trip are truly spectacular: sunken planes, boats and tons of reefs or animals in stellar diving conditions!

Something Different

"We are stoked to have our first wreck diving trip ever going. It's fun to be able to offer a whole new spectrum other than the big animal or reef diving trips we usually organise. Ruud is a specialist in this field, and the perfect man to lead our clients into the wrecks and remains of Pacific historical events." - Marcel Wilpernig
